Neighborhood Meeting 19 June 2018

Board members and residents of the John’s Woods Homeowners Association, Inc. met for its biennial business meeting on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at the City of Lake Oswego’s Maintenance Center 17601 Pilkington Road Lake Oswego, OR 97035.

Board Members David Berg, Gary Sharp, Bob Romanski, Detlef Curtis, David Beecham, Gary Ciment and 42 neighborhood homeowners were in attendance.  Meeting highlights included a guest speaker, Police Chief Dale Jorgensen, who addressed community issues, updated us on neighborhood business, and conducted a question and answer session followed by discussion and resident feedback.  The meeting concluded after refreshments and social engagement.

David Berg called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM introducing the guest speaker, City of Lake Oswego Police Chief Dale Jorgensen.

Guest Speaker:  Chief Jorgensen reviewed city crime statistics and discussed the policy of community policing. While sharing information and answering questions he invited residents to actively engage with law enforcement encouraging all to call the non-emergency line to address even their smallest concerns.

Introductions and City Update:  David Berg introduced current board members and commented on local development projects including ongoing proposals for developing Mercantile Plaza and construction of “The Springs” senior living facility at the intersection of Boones Ferry Road and Kruse Way.

General Business Meeting and Board Member Election:  Concurrent with the introduction of individual board members and the requirement that the association approve board members, David Berg made a formal call for residents wishing to volunteer for participation on the board.  None responded. So, with all existing members agreeing to serve another term, homeowners were asked to vote their assent by a show of hands.  The affirmation was unanimous.

Q & A Followed By Social Engagement:  Participation and feedback accompanied the question and answer session while general discussion and social engagement highlighted and brought the meeting to a close.  It was then moved and seconded for the meeting to be concluded.
